Mother’s Day is on Sunday, the day of the year we give Mom the recognition she so richly deserves the other 364 days of the year, but doesn’t always get. So who to recommend for the Mother’s Day edition of #FollowFriday? There are billions of worthy candidates all across the globe, but we want to focus on a few special moms here in the Mid-Missouri social media community.
Sarah Hill has helped to redefine broadcast news in the past year. She (along with another one of our featured mothers) have integrated the viewing audience into their broadcast through Google+ Hangouts like no one else. Ever. That and her support of the Honor Flight is more than enough reason to want to connect with her. Need another? She’s one of the nicest people you’ll meet.
Jen Reeves has teamed with Sarah Hill to change broadcast news. In her spare time, she blogs about being a mother to her son and daughter (who was Born Just Right), teaches a class at Mizzou, and tweets like crazy.
Renee Hulshof is the co-host of KFRU’s Morning Meeting, and one of the most outspoken women in the political arena in the state. Strong in her convictions, and quick with a joke, Renee is one of our favorite follows on Twitter. She’s a joy to interact with and a wonderful example of what a strong mother should be.
Finally, our favorite mother in Columbia. Our own Nelly Roach. She’s a leader, a nurturer, a comforter, and someone we aspire to be like every day. Thank you seems like such a shallow phrase to express our gratitude to Nelly, and all of our mothers, grandmothers, aunts, stepmothers, and any other woman that has influenced our lives. We love you all, and thanks.
How are you helping mom celebrate this weekend?
