Some of our fondest memories from childhood surround the toys we played with. Among our favorites were Hot Wheels. They were so cool; just dreaming of driving the actual thing along the highway on a warm summer afternoon. Imagine the surprise some grown up kids had in Bogota, Colombia when they were driving down the highway and saw this:
There’s a real beauty in this billboard. It plays into the infrastructure already in place, it’s instantly recognizable, and it plays to our internal child. Who hasn’t dreamed of taking your Nissan Altima (or whatever sedan you drive) around a loop like that? This billboard captures your imagination in so many different ways, it is difficult to count.
That’s the real beauty here. The billboard is creative, there’s no doubt about that. You can find creative billboards that you forget by the next rest stop every day. This is one you’ll probably remember for some time. It pulls childhood memories and the desire for fun all into one simple billboard. All it says with words is “Hot Wheels”. What it says is much more than that.
