We’re looking for a content specialist who is both a strong writer and communicator. This person should have a desire to work behind the scenes with a team to get things done, but also have the communication skills to work with clients to help fulfill their marketing goals.

As a content specialist at Choose Life, you will use your creativity, strategic thinking and passion to write content for websites, compose blog posts, work on presentations, contribute to email marketing efforts and much more.

Choose Life Marketing serves pregnancy help centers & other pro-life organizations. Much of the content you’ll write will be in support of pro-life causes and organizations.

Responsibilities and Duties

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategically write SEO-friendly content for websites
  • Writing content for internal marketing efforts including eblasts, case studies, presentations and downloadables
  • Writing engaging & SEO-friendly blogs based on keyword research
  • Assist with content-related SEO tasks like writing title tags, meta descriptions and alt-text
  • Write content for PPC landing pages
  • Assist the digital team with monthly reporting
  • Work with SEO & PPC specialists to conduct keyword research
  • Assist the team with new business proposals
  • Participate in creative brainstorms for social media, websites, branding, and more
  • Assist the digital team with making social sharing videos and other video production projects

In this position, you should expect to work with different people each day, whether that is a current or potential client or members of our internal team. Because you are a great writer and a strategic thinker, you’ll work hand-in-hand with our digital team to create astounding results for our clients.

Your position will be to create content that everyone loves to read! To you, writing is both a sport and a creative outlet. As a content writer, you’ll be able to use your creativity and your knowledge of digital marketing to create results that are both effective and easy-to-digest.

Qualifications and Skills

Necessary Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with an emphasis in Marketing, Strategic Communication, Journalism, English or another closely-related field
  • 1+ year of relevant experience
  • Excellent writing & editing skills
  • Knowledge of blogging best practices from an SEO standpoint
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Self-starter, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take constructive criticism
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Basic video experience

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge & experience with AP Style
  • Knowledge of email marketing best practices
  • Experience in a content management system such as WordPress
  • Experience with email campaign solutions such as Constant Contact and Mailchimp
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing practices such as social media marketing, SEO and PPC
  • Familiarity with HubSpot and Inbound Marketing
  • Must love dogs 🙂
